Serrekunda is The Gambia's resort city. Serrekunda is located on the southernmost tip of the Gambia River, and is one of The Gambia's two major cities. Serrekunda is the terminus of a ferry route that connects with the Malian capital, Bamako, 250 km away. Many resorts and beach hotels reside on Serrekunda's coastline. Pula, part of Serrekunda, is a recreational district that is lined with hotels, restaurants, and bars. The beaches near Serrekunda and Pula are also popular vacation spots. There is a variety of resorts on the two beaches that offer a range of accommodations, from simple tent camps to lavish hotels. There are also several golf courses within close proximity of Serrekunda. Most of the golf courses offer three or four star accommodations.
